My husband and I both shared the dream of living on the farm. My husband grew up on the farm and while I grew up in town, I spent most of my youth showing POA’s. When we got married we spent years looking for the perfect place that we both liked and that we could afford.
We moved to SE Kansas and have loved it ever since. We spent 3 years building our house ourselves and still claim it as one of our greatest accomplishments.
We are striving to be a, at least somewhat, self sufficient fiber farm. We currently raise Blue Face/Border Leicester cross sheep, Angora goats and Satin and French Angora rabbits mixed with a bunch of chickens, ducks, guineas and turkeys, 6 dogs and a cat. We hope to one day be a farm known for fine fiber for hand spinners.
I started this blog to keep a journal of our successes and failures as we start this new adventure. We’ve been here 3 years, but we are just starting in the fiber venture. And along with that, we strive to provide as much as can for ourselves from the farm.
I hope you enjoy reading and hope that you stop back by often to see what’s going on.
